Empowering Learning, Driving Innovation

I’m Kashan Khan and I hold a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Tianjin University. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from SSUET, where I graduated in 2015 with a silver medal. This opportunity allowed me to pursue a Master’s degree at Tianjin University, supported by a Chinese Government Scholarship, which I completed in 2018.

My doctoral research has centered on the stability of prefabricated steel modular buildings. Through this work, I have developed simplified analysis models and finite element techniques aimed at improving structural performance. I hope my contributions can help clarify the effects of joint configurations and beam stiffness on the stability of modular columns, providing useful insights for both theoretical and practical applications.

I have been fortunate to publish 27 papers in respected journals, with 17 as the first or corresponding author. Additionally, I serve as a reviewer for several SCI journals and hold an editorial position with the International Journal of Architectural Engineering Technology. My research has found applications in significant construction projects in China, including an 18-story modular structure in Zhenjiang and a five-story building in Tianjin.

Beyond my academic work, I am grateful for the opportunities to engage in cultural and social initiatives. I had the honor of speaking at the inaugural “Belt and Road” forum, where I shared my perspective on the importance of Sino-Pakistani relations. Participating in events organized by the Tianjin Municipal Government has also allowed me to share insights on various political developments.

I remain committed to advancing the field of civil engineering and fostering collaborative efforts that connect research with practice. I look forward to continuing to learn and contribute in ways that promote understanding and cooperation between China and Pakistan.

Global Collaboration

Throughout my academic and research career, I have been fortunate to engage in impactful global collaborations that have significantly enhanced my expertise in structural engineering. My work has primarily centered on steel structures, and I have established partnerships with several esteemed institutions across various countries, including:

  1. United Kingdom:

    • Northumbria University, School of Mechanical and Construction Engineering
    • City, University of London, Department of Computer Science and Engineering
    • University of Sheffield
    • University of Birmingham
  2. Australia:

    • Victoria University
    • Western Sydney University
    • Curtin University
  3. New Zealand:

    • Waikato University
  4. Canada:

    • University of Toronto
